Judge Rules That Nintendo Can’t Make Any Money From Meld: The Official Guide to the Wii U’s Game Console – IGN
- by admin
Judge John Swasey of the Southern District of New York has ruled that Nintendo can’t make any money from meld.
In a case brought by two video game developers, Swaseys ruling was based on his ruling that Nintendo has to pay the developers money to create and distribute games.
The ruling came after Nintendo appealed the court ruling, which was upheld by a federal judge in April.
The judges ruling will also affect the licensing of games by Nintendo, and if it stands up, it could lead to Nintendo and its publishers being able to make money from games that have already been made and distributed by other companies.
It was also recently revealed that Nintendo had agreed to pay $1.5 billion to the plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit against Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. The suit was brought against Nintendo after the developer was allegedly denied the chance to sell the games in the United States.
